The Lowdown on Life Plan Communities
Tuesday, July 11, 10—11am
Many senior living communities have been known in the past as Continuing Care Retirement Communities. While the services remain the same, the name is changing to “Life Plan Community”, which are all about providing residents a continuum of care under one roof. On that continuum, residents are offered whole person wellness: 24/7 nursing care; other care services like dentistry, audiology, podiatry, massage therapy; spiritual care; fitness programs, such as aqua aerobics, yoga, dance, personal training, walks and outings; a rich social life. Life Plan Communities also offer home health services (under a physician’s direction) and home care, which are personal services (not physician-directed), like help with activities of daily living, laundry, or companionship. Learn about these communities from Horizon House Health Services Officer, Lauri Warfield-Larson.
