Directions

The Wallingford Community Senior Center is located on the first floor of the Good Shepherd Center, on the corner of N 50 St and Sunnyside Ave. You’ll find the GSC slightly hidden behind hedges on the sidewalk. There is an accessible ramp and a small set of stairs that will take you down to the first level. Once inside, turn right and go to the end of the hall: then you’ll see us!

Parking

There is onsite parking at the Good Shepherd Center as well as limited street parking on Sunnyside Ave. Only the first available lot in the GSC’s traffic loop, left of the building upon entrance, is available for our visitors to park in. Please note that the GSC is shared by many groups, including a school. They start at 9:15 am and end at 3 pm; parking can be particularly scarce around at these times.

WCSC’s transportation assistance service to-and-from the Good Shepherd Center is paused indefinitely. We will alert our community via our email newsletter when this service will start again.

Directions if you’re driving

• If you’re traveling to us via I-5, we recommend taking the N 50 St exit. Go west after exiting the highway, then turn left onto Sunnyside Avenue.
• If you’re traveling to us northbound on 99, we recommend exiting on N 50 St. Continue going straight past Greenlake Way, then turn right onto Sunnyside Avenue.
• If you’re traveling southbound on 99 be aware that there is no eastbound exit. Be prepared to make some extra twists and turns!

Directions if you’re taking the bus or light rail

• WCSC is conveniently located near several bus stops. You can also arrive through a combination of the light rail and bus.

Stops on Route 20

• Southbound –
  Latona Ave NE & NE 51st St
• Southbound –
  Thackeray PL NE & NE 50th St
• Northbound –
  Latona Ave NE & NE 50th St

After getting off the bus, walk westward on N 50 St, past the 7-Eleven. After about 5 blocks, turn left onto Sunnyside Ave. You’ll see the Good Shepherd Center shortly afterwards right behind the hedges.

Please note that there is a small incline to get to WCSC from these stops. It is possible to transfer to Route 44 on 45th Ave. From there, you can get off at N 45th St & Sunnyside Ave N Stop.

Stops on Route 44

• Eastbound –
  From N 45th St & Sunnyside Ave N Stop
• Westbound –
  N 45th St & Corliss Ave N Stop

After getting off the bus, walk north on Sunnyside Ave, past the Domino’s Pizza. After about two blocks you will find the entrance to the Good Shepherd Center.

Stops on Route 62

• Southbound –
  Meridian Ave N & N 50 St Stop
• Northbound –
  Meridian Ave N & N 49 St Stop

There are a few ways to get to us from these stops. You can walk eastward, past Meridian Playground, on N 50 St. After, turn right onto Sunnyside Ave and you’ll see the Good Shepherd Center. You can also walk through Meridian Playground, which has two entrances. The first, a steep ramp, on the corner of Meridian and 50th. The second entrance is a small set of stairs by N 49 St. Walk through left of the building and you’ll be able to enter through the building’s front doors.

Light Rail

There nearest stop on the light rail to us is the University District stop. (Please note this is different than the University of Washington stop!) After getting off at the UD, you will need to transfer at the U District Station – Bay 1 located on the corner of NE 43rd St & Brooklyn Ave NE. You can take bus route 44 to the stop at N 45th St & Sunnyside Ave N Stop.
